How can this man be a Prophet when we have not heard of him before now?
There has been a great deal of effort thrown before me in attempts to stop the work I have been given by our Heavenly Father to do.
This I can say is not a surprise, because of the warnings in the scriptures that it would occur.
Deuteronomy 18:18-22
3 Nephi 21:9-11
3 Nephi 20:43,44
One attempt has been the concept that anyone who would speak out against a church is an evil man, and on the road to apostasy.
This I agree is a true statement that Joseph Smith expressed in his day, and especially about those wicked men who were attempting to usurp the church from him by saying he was a fallen prophet, and that he was spreading false doctrines.
I am professing that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints had fallen from the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ after the death of Joseph Smith.
1 - That they never obtained the fulness of the priesthood that Joseph Smith had.
2 - That the spiritual endowments and gifts are not in the church as they were in the days of Jesus Christ or Joseph Smith.
3 - That they have lost many of the teachings of the Lord that were had in the days of Joseph Smith.
4 - That the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has long deviated from the activities and ordinances that are required to obtain the fulness of salvation.
5 - That the presiding authority is not obtaining revelation through the process organized and established nor is he receiving revelation.
The question is thus to be answered, what is the pattern that the Lord has performed when a church has deviated from what they have been given, or that the time has come for the greater things to be established.
When the Church of Moses was deviating from the schoolmaster teachings, did the Lord go directly to the head of the church? No, he did not. Instead he went to other men of faith and called them to rebuke the leadership and the activities.
What did the leadership of the struggling churches do to the prophets sent to them?
With Moses, they attempted a coo when in the desert more than once.
They chased Elijah to and fro, even to where he went in hiding in the mountains.
In the days of Lehi, many prophets were raised up to the House of Israel, and in response they were slain.
Lehi himself would have been killed, but he was given the directive to flee Israel and go to another land unknown to them.
What happened to Isaiah in his attempts to bring Israel back on the true path of learning? He was sawed in half.
Was Isaiah of the leadership of the church? No.
What of Jonah, was he of the leadership? No.
He was called of the Lord to warn the people to repent and to his frustration they repented.
Tell me, was John the Baptist of the leadership of the church, be it the Sanhedrin or the Pharisees? No.
Did John call them to repent, to return to the old teachings, and to prepare for the greater prophet and teachings to come? Yes.
Then what did they do to John the Baptist? They cut off his head.
When the Savior came to the earth, was He raised up through the present church leadership? No.
Instead He came forth in such a way that they mocked Him, where they said that the Lord never spoke of anyone to come from Nazareth!
As concerning Joseph Smith, was he a man of prominence, wealth, a religious leader, or a man of high esteem in the eyes of his generation when he commenced? No.
He was a young man of fourteen years, of which after revealing of his experience he was marked as one who was a liar, a deceiver, even to that of being ridiculed from his young age on.
I could continue on in pointing out the obscurity of those raised up to call the churches of Christ in a state of corruption with regards to the truths, that they never came from the leadership of the churches of their day.
Therefore, if the Lord were to point out the wrongs of a church, He would raise up someone in their midst who is not in the leadership, and who would not be accepted for his teachings.
Another concept that has been thrown at me is that the Lord does everything with two or three people, and not one or as they quote that the Lord establishes everything with two or three witnesses.
They have included that this refers to the priesthoods, truths, spiritual gifts, revelations, etc. and that because I was alone for some of these things, that I am not a prophet.
I would say that this again was another failure to understand the pattern.
Tell me, was anyone present when Adam received the greater priesthood?
Moses 6:67,68 - No.
How about Enoch? Moses 6:32-34 - No.
How about Melchizedek? JST Genesis 14:27-32 - No.
How about Moses? Exodus 4:1-9; JST Genesis 50:34,35 - No.
How about John the Baptist? D&C 84:28 - No.
How about the Savior? Hebrews 5:5 - No!
How about Lehi who had no right to the Aaronic Priesthood but professed to have a Priesthood?
This I also include to refer to many of the prophets of Israel who were not of Levi but after Moses, and before the coming of Jesus Christ that they were of other lineages besides Levi, and obtained the Priesthoods, and yet, from who?
Who gave Alma his authority to baptize, ordain, teach, etc.?
Where are all of these witnesses of these men?
Another idea attempted to be set against me is that all teachings must be obtained with a group of two or more people, and that as well as all revelations must have a group of two or more.
Did the Savior, John the Baptist, Moses (40 days twice) and many of the prophets of old, receive all of the revelations and instructions with others present?
There is no record that they did this, in regards to learning while others were present.
In the Doctrine and Covenants there are many revelations received by Joseph Smith when he was alone, and not when others were present. The same can be said of spiritual endowments, for sometimes others were present, and other times were not.
Adam, Enoch, Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, John the Baptist, the Savior, etc.
So, to set that only when two or more are present can anything be done is as wrong to say that only when one person is present can these activities be done.
When is the law of witnesses in force then? When a law or teaching is established to the church from the prophet is when it is required that two or more be present. Not when God is making known His will to the prophet, but when the Lord's prophet is establishing it as a set activity in the church.
Thus no one man can say he set this to be with me alone. There must be two or more. This includes all sealings, ordinations, and or blessings.
Thus do I bear witness that I, John Michael Fletcher am he to whom was promised would come forth in the last days to restore all things.
JST Matthew 17:14
D&C 77:9
D&C 27:6
Wherefore, the time has come to bring forth the true gospel of Jesus Christ, along with the saving activities to be done.
Amen.
